Review of the edge of the empire beginner game box set by fantasy flight games

The beginner game is a grate wet to start off role playing not just playing star wars, the beginner game has a very nice quick and easy example game that you can have lots of fun trying out the game, I personally have played it 2 and run it 3 times and each time it has turned out different.

It containes a set of dice, tokens for the light and dark points, a collection of tokens for enemies, a nice set of maps, the character sheets for the 4 caricatures in the box, a Minnie rule book and the adventure book.

In my personal opinion for a bigger to role playing this will be a almost perfect place to start with easy rules and a lot of fun to be had playing it

In general I think it is a very nice set but I wish it was cheaper if it was around £20 it would be perfect but at it's normal price of £30 I find that it is a little on the expensive side

All in all I think it is a good set just a little pricey so I would give it a 8/10 in till next time have a good day

Review of fantasy flight games Star wars edge of the empire RPG (core rule book and system overview)

-warlord Drake Hammerfist
Hello all I'm back with the review I had promised, edge of the empire in my opinion is one of the best RPGs I've played and run it's set in the edge of the galaxy were you can be smugglers and bounty hunters in a gritty world of crime and high adventure if your wanting rebellion against the empire games you can do but I'd advise using Age of Rebellion and for jedis and with this game can run it but again Force and Destiny is a game that specialties in it but they do all work and run together seamlessly but back to Edge of the Empire it has a fast dice mechanic that doesn't take an our to work out if you hit or not and they add a lot of narrative gameplay and it really gets the star wars feeling with it's races and classes.
·Dice there is a variety of dice in the game all custome dice (which some people might hate but I'm definitely a fan) they have on them symbols that represent hit, miss, advantage, disadvantaged triumph and dispear you role your collection  of your dice (green, light blue or yellow) and the opposing dice (purple, black or red) and count out the number of each symbol and see which comes out on top after they have been canceled out by each other and then implement it in a narrative way I personally adore the dice mechanic.
·The core role book holds the main fan favorite race's you see in the movies and some unusual race's with Wookiees, Trandoshans, Twi'leks, Rodians, Bothans, Droids, Gands and as expected Humans. They all have there own differences and there own skills that show off the race's specialties, the game runs on 6 core sets you have  BRAWN (the characters physical straight and fitness) AGILITY (the characters reactions and over all speed it covers shooting and such) INTELLECT (how smart the character is and it comes into play a lot in the game) CUNNING (how street wise and how much the character can work out his surroundings to be stealthy) WILLPOWER (is pretty self explanatory its how good the character is in a difficult situation and how well he can cope with the stresses of life on the rim) and finely PRESENCE (it is basically just speech it covers most social interactions and such and can also be how scary you are)
· And lastly the classes I in the core book you have all the ones you'd expect for a nitty gritty game set in the eyes of the galaxy here is a quick list they all fall into careers and speciations so I will do them in that format
Bounty hunter: Assassin (out and out tag them and bag them) Gadgeteer (uses tech to catch them all) Survivalist (goes out hunting them in the wilds over the hills and far away)
The colonist: Doctor (out to heal who they can in this twisted universe of death and destruction) Politico (just wants to talk it all out peacefully) Scholar (well someone has to do the dirty work of recording all the battles and finding the artifacts)
The explorer: Fringer (jack of all trades master of none just out to survive in the galaxy) Scout (if you need a guide through the roughs of dagoba or someone to find you a hyper lane there your man) Trader (just out there to buy and sell to manages many credits as they can)
The hired gun: Bodyguard (if you pay them enogh they will take a bullet for you but if not they will please themselves) Marauder (anyone order opponent jam? Well the marauder can sort that out there fists or melee weapon is there best friend and they use them well) Mercenary (you pay them they'll do whatever you want for the right price of course guns don't load themselves with ammo)
The smuggler: Pilot (you want that cargo taking fast just give me the word and well have it there) Scoundrel (can't trust em as far as you can throw em but in the right situation and right pay off they will be your best friend) Thief (watch your pockets when there around but they can be a good help to get that nice gun you've always wanted for free)
The technician: mechanic (a must on any ship they can fix it up nicely and keep your rust bucket running smoothly) outlaw tech (want your ship to go a lot faster than it should and not appear on radars well it's this guys speciality) Slicer (a hacker by all accounts but they get the job done you need that safe opening they can do it just give them time and the tools)
All in all if your a fan of star wars or even just sci fi criminal games or films this is a must if I could give it more it would but I will have to give it 10/10 it is a awesome game to play and so much fun to run you can just be like a little kid playing han solo
It's been a long one but I think you all deserve it we hope now we can both post now that the blog will be running at a minimum of two posts a week so until next time have a grate day and keep calm and play games!

morghast archai review

Hi peoples Nareik Bitteraxe here and finally able to make my first post.
So today i will be reviewing games workshop's morghast archai.

now the models themselves are beautifully detailed and visually stunning and there rules aren't bad either. However there are many flaws with the design that leave it very fragile such as the whole model being supported by its wings which its thin fragile wings that while it looks cool makes transport a nightmare. Also the arms while completely poseable (exactly the way it shows you unless you don't want it to fit together for some reason) both arms comprised of three parts each need glueing together at the same time to insure that they actually work making the whole building processes really fiddly and with the model being basically supported from its back its really front heavy and needs holding down to the base until the glue completely dries. however the models are really cool and fun to use so overall I would still recommend getting them.

my own archai only one of them painted.  I apologise for the poor quality of the photos

Zombicide survivors painted

-Warlord Drake Hammerfist

Hello all sorry for nothing recently the internet has been playing up anyway today we have something quite existing painted zombicide survivors there really nice minis.

Took me a while to do them cos of the variety of colors and I couldn't batch paint them but they still look Incredible, in my opinion if you could buy them separately a fair few 28mm aambush Z players would get them or even just people wanting 28mm civilians with guns but any how the minis we have in no particular order (at all) we have Watts, Wanda, Derek, Elsa, Shannon, Belle, Ned, Amy, Laurie, Louise, Kim, Travis, Parker, Joshua, Cathy, Bear, Josh, Doug, Phil, Terry, Joe, Dan, Raoul, Jane, James, Grindlock, Maddie, Neema. Thats all the survivors that come in the box games

All in all a very nice set of miniatures and very fun to paint and no flashing at all! So definitely a 10/10 from me

Review of the wargames factory zombie apocalypse survivors (male and female)

-warlord Drake Hammerfist

Hello all I'm back again with a review of the wargames factory zombie apocalypse survivors both male and female sets I have to admit I've had these sets quite a while just sat there and oil just got round to building and painting a few.

The miniatures are of nice high quality plastic and have a variety of very nice poses and lots of extra bits for customization so many in fact I've used some of the bits for other stuff with 30 miniatures in each sat there's a nice amount of survivors I've made any normal gaming group in miniature form and in my opinion personal opinion I've got them very nicely represented. The only issue I have with these sets is that with GW plastic glue that don't seem to stick that well but that might be the glue rather than the miniatures

All in all very nice models with lots of customisation 9/10 because of the glue issue but apart from that they are definitely werth getting if you want to make your own little group of survivors

(In the group picture the guy in an assault vest isn't from the set he is a empress miniatures sas guy and the one with the leather jacket and pistol held up in two hands is from a old star wars game)

Review of zombicide

-warlord Drake Hammerfist

Hello all it's me back again with a review of zombicide a zombie apocalypse board game I've had this game for quite a while now and let me tell you if bloody awesome! It's grate for playing with friends and even pretty good playing it alone it's fast paced and easy to learn (trust me I got my mum playing it and she gets confused with most games)

All the mechanics are very streamlined you draw cards for the zombies to see where they spawn and draw cards for your equipment (but there seems to be a lot of AA12's just lying around after the zombie apocalypse so that will be good when it happens AA12's for everyone!) The shooting is nice but in the original game you had to shoot a survivor before the zombies which was a bit annoying but not game breaking and the abominations oh gods they are horrible horrible things (if you ever see one just run, run far and run fast and don't look back or they'll get you!!!!) The car mechanics is a bit iffy I would rather just leave them out of the game to be honest but again not game breaking, the only thing I've found that isn't a bad thing at all is it's just pretty hard to beat but as I said not a bad thing at all just a nice challenge

All in all great game and fun for the whole family (if they like zombies that is) with some very intense moments and really shows team work stress when you have a abomination after you with his minions which is really fun I give the game a 10/10 because it's zombies and I love!!! Zombies there awesome and as a game it's very streamlined and fine tuned.

Dead man's hand battle report

Warlord Drake Hammerfist-

Hello again all lots of new posts today. A battle report for dead man's hand now unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of it :( the game was just a pitched battle between my desperados and my friend R's lawmen

The first round not much happened we just moved up the street and got into cover,

but then on the second round it really heated up with r opening up on me and doing a small amount of damage but then I shot back and killed two of his men

Round three was a blood bath with all but one of his men being killed and 3 of mine being killed

The next few rounds ended up like a comedy sceth with us all running around the town chasing the last lawman and 2 more of my men were killed but eventually I got him.

All in all very good game very intense r did very well for a first game but unfortunately the dice really weren't in his favor

Review of the dead man's hand desperado gang

-warlord Drake Hammerfist

Hello all back again with a review of the desperado gang it will only be a quick one cos I've already painted out all the main things in the lawmen review

The I personally prefer these over the lawmen cos of the different kinds of miniatures from a clint Eastwood stile guy to a native American and two Mexicans

All in all very nice miniatures again 9/10 from me for the same reasons as the last gang

Review of the dead man's hand lawmen gang

Warlord Drake hammerfist-

Hello all I'm back again at last and I've finished painting the lawmen gang for dead man's hand now I have really enjoyed painting them so hear is the review

The minis are kinda expensive at £20 for 7 models but it is definitely werth the price cos the models have so much detail and are in very nice poses, the only issue I have with the models is they chip very easily of you don't have varnish on them but apart from that the minis are awesome.

Just a little side note it has nothing to do with the miniatures but the terrain that I've found looking online is all pretty expensive does anyone know of any cheap western terrain

All in all very good miniatures just wish they were a little cheaper as I said my only gripes are the price and the fact they chip so 9/10 from me.

Battle report of a star wars imperial assault demo game

Warlord Drake Hammerfist-

Hello all I'm back again with another battle report from the st hellens show, this time a game of imperial assault which is a board game/rpg crossover game made by fantasy flight games who make some incredible board games and tabletop rpg's including talisman, edge of the empire (age of rebellion and force and Destiny) rpg, dark heresy and many more awesome games The game was run by a member of the Spartans (the st hellens gaming club) and our mission as the rebels was to destroy the imperial bace

Round one: my bothan had the first go and I ran to the edge of the clearing and shot at one of the stormtroopers doing some damage but not much, than the stormtroopers went and shot me to pieces and got me to literally within a inch of my life, than the smuggler had his go moving closer to the stormtroopers and took a shot at one doing a little more damage, than the prob droid had a go but didn't do much just moved closer to everyone, than the wookie went and charged at the stormtrooper and smacked him with his vibro axe slicing him clean in two and damaging the stormtrooper behind him, than the imperial officer ordered the stormtroopers to attack again doing a slight bit of damage to the wookie but nothing mager, than the jedi ran up and attacked one of the stormtroopers doing a fair bit of damage but not enough to kill it.

Round two: I took the first round again this time healing and shooting at a stormtrooper that had appeared right behind me, than the troops whent the one behind me moving out of range and shooting me the other two shooting at the wookie doing no damage, then the wookie turned round and cleaved the other stormtrooper clean in two without even trying. Then the prob droid attacked the wookie but missed. Then the jedi ran past to attack the prob droid but missed, the imperial officer ordered the stormtroopers to attack  again to no avail, than the smuggler ran past and shot at the officer and did a small amount of damage, at the end of the turn the prob droid self destructed doing a small amount of damage to everyone in the imideat vicinity (the jedi, the wookie and the smuggler)

Round three: the wookie went first slicing the last stormtrooper in two mincemeat and attacking the first console destroyed it, than the remaining stormtrooper shot me again but only did a small amount of damage, than the jedi ran to the door and opened it, then the imperial officer shot at the smuggler as he ran throw the door and shot back at the officer killing him and going into the base as I ran to the door to shoot anything in there but there wasn't anything there for now and then all of a sudden two more stormtroopers appeared from behind me shooting me and doing a lot of damage marking me flip to the second side of my card.

Round four: the doors slammed shut tripping the smuggler inside just as a eweb operator came out of nowhere with his eweb heavy repeating blaster and shot at the smuggler as he moved out of the way returning fire but neather doing much damage, then more stormtroopers appeared behind us and started shooting damaging me and the wookie as the wookie ran to the door and attacked it with the jedi breaking it down as I ran throw the whole shooting at the eweb killing it (only just) and then a imperial officer with the stormtroopers ordered them forward to attack doing more damage to us all than the smuggler used his action to shoot at the console doing a small amount of damage to it.

Round five: the wookie charged in and cleaved the console in half as some stormtroopers appeared from a side room shooting me again doing even more damage, then the jedi ran into the base and past the stormtroopers attacking the console as there officer ordered them to fire marking her card flip and almost killing her, than the smuggler ran past the stormtroopers shooting at the other console doing a fair bit of damage, than the stormtroopers ran in from outside and surrounded the wookie shooting at him doing a lot of damage but not enough to flip his card, then I ran past all the stormtroopers and shot at the first console and destroyed it.

Round six (the final round): the round started with the smuggler running to the last console and shooting it but didn't do enough damage to destroy it, then the stormtroopers surrounded him shooting at him so that he flipped over but left a opening and I took the opportunity to run past and shoot it but I missed so the stormtroopers around the wookie shot him again not quite pushing him over the egde and the wookie attacked one of stormtroopers but missed so the jedi rand at the console and destroyed it and destroying the base and winning the game by the skin of our teeth

All in all a very intense expesaly at and very hit and miss grate game really fun and will definitely be playing it again many thanks the the guy who run the game (sorry I don't remember your name) and good job team we did it just....

Battle report of a dead man's hand demo game

Warlord Drake Hammerfist-
Hello everybody (still deciding on a greeting) I'm back again I know twice in one day now thats cool isn't it
For my first ever battle report I will be doing a report on the demo game that has started off my new love for dead man's hand by great escape games this was game between me and my friend S with him playing the lawmen and me playing the outlaws, the mission/scenario was that the lawmen had captured one of my gang and hung him and my guys were going to teach them a lesson (and so they did whoops spoiler alert)
Turn one: my outlaw with a repeater got the first activation and did a shoot shoot move Acton, his first shot missed but on his second he rolled a 20 and pretty much just blew the lawman's face clean off then he moved to the back of the sheriffs office. Then it was the remaining lawman's go he ran for the sheriffs office and took cover on the balcony. Then my other two outlaws went one running to stand practically in front of the lawman and took a shot and missed then the other ran the stand a few feet away from the lawman and took a shot at the lawman hitting but only giving him a under fire marker.
Turn two: the lawman got the initiative this time doing a shoot shoot move but he only needed the first shot cos he opened up with both barrels of his sawn off shotgun blowing him into millions of little pieces scattered across the street he then jumped through the window of the sheriffs office to be met by my outlaw with the repeater in the doorway my guy took a shot but missed my other outlaw decided to follow the lawman through the window but his holster got caught on the window frame and he fell flat on his face
Turn three: the turn started with the lawman shooting my man with the repeater causing a under fire marker. Then my outlaw without a repeater shot at the lawman but missed then my repeater guy shot at the lawman and missed.
The next few rounds were much of the same until at last the lawman killed the repeater man and it the same turn the other outlaw killed the lawman.
So in my opinion I would class it as a draw cos S's lawman were all killed but my gang could no longer be called a gang and the last man probably went running off to find a new town and a new life cos he had no friends left.
All in all great game really enjoyed it

Dead man's hand review/first impression

Warlord Drake Hammerfist-
Hello it's me again bringing you a review/first impression of great escape games wild west small scale skirmish game I've only played it once (at the show yesterday) and read the rule book but in my opinion it's very nice.
The game isn't complicated at all very fast and really gives you the Hollywood wild west feel. It uses some really cool mechanics including using playing cards to determine initiative and the cars all have there own little action/skills that they do like one of them is dead eye shot that lets you ignore cover when shooting at a opponent and all kinds of others that do cool stuff and one of my favorite parts is the dice mechanic you only need a D10 and a D20 and your set, when shooting on a role of 1 your out of ammo, a role of 2-10 it's just a straight miss, 11-14 you get a under fire marker (ill get back to that), 15-18 a under fire marker and a nerve test (basically a brake test) and on a 19+ there dead just straight up dead which I quite like. Now basically a under fire marker isn't a wound as such it is just a -1 to your role for each one and you can heal it without much trouble and get back to killing the enemy.
All in all on first impression it's a very quick streamline and very fun game and the miniatures to go with it are just stunning (but you'll have to wait for that review) over all I can't see anything wrong with this game so my rating is definitely a 10 out of 10 brilliant game you should definitely go check it out
